Course Description


This 6-month course is designed to equip participants with advanced video editing skills, integrating traditional techniques with cutting-edge AI tools. Participants will master the fundamentals of video editing while learning how to leverage AI-driven automation for tasks like scene detection, color grading, audio cleanup, and subtitles generation. By the end of the course, students will be able to produce professional-grade videos efficiently and creatively, preparing them for careers in film, TV, marketing, and content creation.

Weeks 1–8 - Foundations of Video Editing & AI Tools

Objective

Video editing is the backbone of post-production, transforming raw footage into a cohesive narrative. This module lays the groundwork by teaching foundational skills while introducing AI tools that streamline repetitive tasks and enhance creativity.

  • Understand traditional video editing principles (e.g., pacing, transitions, storytelling).
  • Explore AI-driven tools like Adobe Premiere Pro (Sensei), Runway ML, and Descript
  1. Basics of Video Editing:
    • Understanding timelines, cuts, and transitions.
    • Traditional vs. AI-assisted workflows.
  2. AI-Powered Scene Detection & Transitions:
    • Automating scene cuts with Runway ML.
    • Using AI to suggest optimal transition effects.
  3. Introduction to AI Tools:
    • Hands-on tutorials with Adobe Sensei, Descript, and Final Cut Pro’s AI features.

Deepen participants' understanding of intermediate editing techniques and explore AI automation for tasks like subtitles generation, audio cleanup, and color correction.

  • Clean up audio tracks using AI-powered noise reduction (e.g., iZotope RX) 
  • Apply AI-driven color grading for consistent tones across scenes.

    • Translating content into multiple languages using AI.
  2. Audio Post-Production with AI:
    • Removing background noise and enhancing dialogue clarity.

    • Tools like DaVinci Resolve Neural Engine for automated tone matching.

The final module synthesizes all previous lessons into a cohesive workflow. Participants will tackle real-world challenges while producing a professional-grade video that showcases their technical and creative abilities

  2. Ethical Considerations in AI Usage:
    • Addressing biases in AI-generated content.
    • Balancing automation with artistic intent.
  3. Capstone Project:
    • A complete video project from editing to delivery.

Key Activities

  • Collaborate in groups to simulate real-world team dynamics.
  • Optimize the final output for multiple platforms (e.g., TikTok, YouTube).
  • Present the capstone project with a detailed breakdown of AI usage.

Course Outcomes

By the end of the course, you will:
